Spanish Language

The Spanish language, also known as Español or Castellano, is a Romance language that originated in the Iberian Peninsula and is now spoken by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. It is the second most spoken native language globally and is the official language of 20 countries, primarily in Latin America and Spain, as well as one dependent territory. Spanish is a member of the broader family of Western Romance languages, which evolved from Vulgar Latin, influenced by Arabic, indigenous languages, and other languages due to historical conquests, colonization, and cultural exchange. The language has numerous dialects and variations, reflecting the diverse cultures and regions of its speakers. Spanish is also one of the six official languages of the United Nations and is widely studied as a second language across the globe.
