Women’s Rights

Women’s rights refer to the rights and entitlements that are claimed for women and girls of all ages, aimed at achieving gender equality and protecting their freedoms and opportunities. These rights encompass a wide range of issues, including but not limited to the right to vote, access to education, employment opportunities, reproductive rights, protection against violence and discrimination, and participation in political and public life. The movement for women’s rights seeks to address social, political, and economic inequalities that have historically marginalized women and to promote their full participation and agency in society. Women’s rights are recognized as human rights and are supported by various international treaties and declarations, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
